Become a Member
The Tamar Valley Tourism Association (TAVATA) was formed in 2001 to encourage and promote quality tourism in the area. It is a not-for-profit organisation and the membership includes all business with an interest in tourism.
We have strong links with the Tamar Valley AONB, regional tourism associations and local government agencies, and so are able to feed back news to members about current initiatives, developments and events throughout the area on a regular basis.
Membership costs just £45 for a year from January to January, and includes the following:
Website Listing
Inclusion in this comprehensive website, which, since major redevelopment in May 2007, averages 10,000 visits per month and performs very well in the search engines. It can display the following information :
- up to 1500 characters of text describing your business
- up to three images
- a link to your own website
- full contact details
- features and facilities
- awards
- random inclusion in the 'See Also' panels throughout the site
- monthly updates on your entry's viewing statistics
Multiple Entries
Members with an additional, related business operating at the same address (a hotel with a restaurant, for example), can take an extra website entry for the reduced rate of £20.
Leaflets
The fee also buys inclusion in one of our leaflets, where appropriate, which are distributed widely throughout the area, at all the Tourist Information Offices, most major attractions, and many accommodation providers.
Members Area
Members have access to www.tavatamembers.co.uk which contains downloadable documents relevant to running a tourism related business, and reports on website performance.
