Tamar Trails Festival


It’s been 20 years since the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) was designated. To celebrate this milestone, the AONB team have organised a 5-day Tamar Trail Festival from 26th to 30th August 2015 culminating  in a special day on Sunday 30th August, packed with family fun, local food, craft activities, a mini Bioblitz and much, much more.  Please go to

You are invited to come and celebrate with us on Sunday 30th August, 10am –4pm, in the grounds of the Tamar Valley Centre. Our Celebration Day, to mark 20 years since the Tamar Valley was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, will be packed with family fun.

Join our mini BioBlitz, with John Walters who recently appeared on BBC1’s The One Show, enjoy performances from The Rubber Band, get up close to small animals, take part in our craft activities, enjoy a history & mining walk and try some delicious local food.

All are welcome to this free event, dogs on leads please.

The Tamar Trail Festival brings together a range of activities, events and guided walks from across the Tamar Valley, including events from other organisations that have an interest in helping the AONB team conserve and enhance the landscape.

Enjoy walks from Lopwell Dam to Blaxton Quay, along the Tamar Trails to Morwellham, through the Danescombe Valley, on the Bere Peninsula or around Kit Hill.
