Lakeside Gallery

Launceston, Cornwall

Lakeside Gallery was established in 1989 by Linda and Roger Garland primarily to exhibit their own work, but also to promote book illustration as a serious art form and to make it accessible to a wider audience. The work of Seth Garland (son), who specialises in Modern Realism and Amy Garland (daughter) pet and wildlife artist are recent additions and have added a new diversity to the gallery's output.

The Permanent Tolkien Collection
Permanently on show is The Tolkien Collection, over seventy commissioned paintings and drawings illustrating Tolkien's World. All works were commissioned by Allen & Unwin and Harper Collins prior to the film during the 80's. They represent Roger's visual interpretation of Tolkien's famous Middle-earth and are iconic images in the publishing world.
