The Arundell Arms has been one of England's premier hotels for more than half a century and has more than 20 miles of its own water on the Tamar and five of its tributaries. These are spate rivers that rise on the moors and come down to our valleys through woods and farmland, becoming larger, deepening, providing an infinite variety of water, long slow pools, gravelly runs and stickles, fast shallows and open glades.

The hotel prides itself for its warmth and comfort not only in the sitting room with its welcoming log fire, but in the bar with its buzz of talk about the events of the day and in the small thoughtful things such as the home-made chocolates placed in the sitting room for the guest after dinner and the bowls of fresh flowers everywhere.

Over a number of years the restaurant has established an international reputation for the best of English cooking using almost exclusively the superlative produce of the West Country.
