available to hire exclusively for weddings, a family get together,
anniversary celebrations, corporate entertaining, or team building
exercises. The property is completely secret - it can only be seen
from the River, or Bere Alston! Explore the gardens and surrounding
woodland over the course of a 3 night stay, and enjoy the experience
of your very own large country castle. Explore the idyllic woodland
paths lined with snowdrops or bluebells down to the river and across
fields, watch out for deer, buzzards and our resident peacocks.
There is plenty for those with a historical bent - Sir James Tillie
still resides in his Mausoleum at the top of Mount Ararat, and there
are plenty of secrets to be discovered on walks through the American
Gardens, full of camellias and rhodedendrons during spring and early
summer.
Autumn does not disappoint either, when the woods become a riot of
colour.
The extensive renovation that began in September 2008 is due for
completion at the end of May 2009 and should offer a truly 5 star
experience.
