South African Plants
We grow a wide range of South African plants, bulbs and herbaceous; as a rule, we only grow plants that we like! Many narcissi in our collection were bred in the valley or are named after local places. We grow in peat-free compost and use no artificial chemicals on our nursery. We make no excuses for the occasional hole in our leaves! In particular, you will find Crocosmias – in every shade from lemon-yellow to deep red. See our display garden and beds containing over 15,000 bulbs in flower over the summer. Sempervivums. Wide range of these colourful rosette-forming plants. Helianthemums (Rock Roses). A must for sunny gardens with hundreds of colourful papery flowers from white/cream to pink, red, orange or apricot. Native bulbs. Never overlook our own native bulbs, some of the very best plants for your garden but often difficult to find.
How to Find Us: Look out for our brown tourist signs on the A390 Callington to Gunnislake road, close to the Rifle Volunteer Public House. Follow the signs for 2 miles towards the village of Latchley. Trecanna Nursery can be found just above the village on the right hand side.
